Satō Reidō (Satō Seihachirō) was born December 9, 1923 in Nagasaki City.

He started teaching in 1960.
He presided over the Nagasaki Chikuyu-kai.

[further information from Justin Senryu William]
Sato Reido was the principle student of both Kiyota Shodo and Yamaue Getsuzan, inheriting Kiyota Shodo's school, and being the only one to receive Yamaue Getsuzan's complete lineage. As well as teaching the Kinko Ryu repertoire, he was a master of Nezasa Ha Kimpu Ryu, having studied the repertoire both from his teacher Kiyota Shodo and receiving Orito Nyogetsu's lineage from Yamaue Getsuzan. Among his rarest pieces were his collection of Tsuru no Sugomori pieces for which he was renowned, and his Kyushu Kei, Oshu Kei and Shimpo Ryu repertoires. In his last years he handed responsibility of his school to his top student Otsubo Shido
